About Me

Hi! I’m Kathleen Anderson, a producer and creative currently based in Seoul. A military child, I traveled around the world then completed my degree at Emerson College in Boston. After graduation, I moved out to Los Angeles to begin my career in media production. In 2020, I got the opportunity to produce short form animated content in Seoul.

As a story producer at CeREELs, I oversee the creative process for several animated series from pre-production to post-production — with projects in varying stages of production. With each production, I’ve been involved with pitching sessions, researching, writing, directing, managing talent, coordinating with studios and freelancers, and feedback.

One of the biggest lessons I’m taking away from CeREELs is learning how to be a simple, effective communicator. Since most of the animation and music team are Korean speakers, I’ve had to communicate in Korean and English and translate screenplays, reference materials, feedback, and more. By working in a bilingual environment, I’ve learned how important it is to make sure instructions are clear and meaningful.

I balance my day job with personal creative work, from weekly uploads to TikTok to poetry to photography. On TikTok, I document moments from my life as a “personal visual diary” since I found I had less and less time to journal and thought TikTok was the perfect platform to practice video creation on a smaller scale. My poetry has been published in several publications, including The Asian-American Writers Workshop’s “The Margins”. With photography, I’ve fallen in love with 35mm photography and take my film camera everywhere I go — taking a little more time to appreciate the view.

I am a self-motivated individual with a lot of passion for content creation — both independently and with a team. I love to collaborate on any creative project, driving myself to learn more about producing content in any form. Please reach out if you’d like to get started on something new together!
